75th Anniversary of D-Day Symposium

Over 200 people attended the Symposium co-sponsored with the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College and the Eisenhower National Historic Site.  Guest speakers Susan Eisenhower, Craig Symonds and John McManus presented talks and filmmaker George Colburn previewed a rough cut of his new documentary.  Everyone enjoyed a continental breakfast and lunch at the college’s Atrium.  A panel discussion ended the formal program.  Guest speakers signed books and 55 attendees opted for the tour of the Eisenhower National Historic Site.  Each registrant received a gift bag with symposium-related items. The Eisenhower Society provided a transcript of our former Chairman of the Board, Major General J. Milnor Roberts recounting his experience as a young officer landing on Omaha Beach.  To read his story, click here.  Our thanks to Gettysburg Tours and Federal Pointe Inn for providing reduced rates for the Eisenhower Tour and guest speaker accommodations.   Fortunately, C-Span filmed the program.  If you missed it or want to see it again, check the listings for C-Span 3.
