Dwight D. Eisenhower Society 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner

Join us on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Gettysburg Hotel where the Society began.  We will remember the Eisenhower Society’s 50 years of commemorating and educating others about Dwight Eisenhower’s legacy.  We have invited the Eisenhower grandchildren.  We have also invited descendants of the Eisenhower Society Founders to be recognized.  Enjoy a delicious dinner along with an Ike or a Mamie cocktail. 

Our guest speaker for the evening is Dr. William I. Hitchcock, author of The Age of Eisenhower Hitchcock is the William W. Corcoran Professor of History at the University of Virginia. He has written and edited numerous books on the international, diplomatic and military history of the 20th Century, especially the era of the world wars and the cold war. He received his B.A. degree from Kenyon College in 1986, and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1994. He has been a Fulbright scholar, a fellow of the Nobel Institute in Oslo, and the holder of the Henry Kissinger Chair at the Library of Congress.  His 2008 book, The Bitter Road to Freedom: A New History of the Liberation of Europe, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, and a winner of the George Louis Beer Prize from the American Historical Association. His most recent book, The Age of Eisenhower: America and the World in the 1950s, was a New York Times bestseller.
