Everyone is welcome at our annual wreath laying at 12 Noon.<\/strong> A short program, scholarship presentations, the ROTC Leadership Award announcement and a wreath laying at the \u201cEisenhower at Gettysburg\u201d statue will be held outside the Eisenhower House, President Eisenhower\u2019s retirement office at 300 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg College. Attendance at the wreath laying is open to the public and free of charge.<\/p>\n Following the wreath laying, join the Eisenhower Society at 1 p.m. for a buffet luncheon at the historic Dobbin House, 89 Steinwehr Avenue, Gettysburg.<\/strong>\u00a0 The buffet menu includes Chicken Coq Au Vin, Baked Ham with Pineapple Raisin Sauce, and Penne Pasta with Tomato Sauce. Vegetables include Rice Pilaf, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Buttered Dilled Carrots, and Green Beans Almondine. A 25-item salad bar, fresh baked breads, and desserts including Fudge Brownies, Blueberry Trifle, Gingerbread with Lemon Sauce and Colonial Pudding Cake will also be available.<\/p>\n Our luncheon speaker this year is retired National Park Service Ranger John Heiser.\u00a0 <\/strong>Since his retirement as an historian at the Gettysburg National Military Park, John remains active with several organizations related to United States culture and military history, with a focus on the Mediterranean Theater in World War II.<\/p>\n He is an avid World War II living historian. John will share his knowledge and research about General Eisenhower and the D-Day landings.\u00a0 He will also show the standard military kit that soldiers carried as they came off the landing craft on D-Day.\u00a0 A question and answer session and opportunity to look at the items in the kit will follow the program.<\/p>\n Luncheon tickets are $35.00 per person or $210.00 for a group of six reserved seats. <\/strong>Please reserve early as our luncheon has often sold out.
