Dwight D. Eisenhower Society Introduces Carol Hegeman as New Executive Director<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In November 2017, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Society welcomed Carol Hegeman as its new executive director. Ms. Hegeman brings a wealth of knowledge to the society on General Eisenhower. In 2015, she retired from the National Park Service after 42 years of service. During her time with the National Park Service, she served as the first supervisory historian of Eisenhower National Historic Site for 35 years.<\/p>\n

Of her many accomplishments, one of the most notable is the oral history project she embarked on in the beginning of her tenure at the Eisenhower Site and hopes to finish in the coming years. The oral history project consists of more than 200 hours of oral history interviews of those who knew the Eisenhowers the best. She has also served as editor of the book Eisenhower National Historic Site Museum Collections<\/em>, and coauthored Eisenhower\u2019s Gettysburg Farm<\/em>. Ms. Hegeman served on the Eisenhower Society Board of Trustees from 2015 until the time of her appointment as executive director.<\/p>\n

Ms. Hegeman will be working out of the new Eisenhower Society office located at 789 Baltimore Street<\/a> in Gettysburg.<\/p>\n
