The Dwight D. Eisenhower Society hosts two annual events.
Each July the Society hosts a picnic on the grounds of Eisenhower National Historic Site, the only home that General and Mamie Eisenhower ever owned. Guests can participate in tours of the house and grounds, a golfing competition on the General's putting green, a special historical talk presented by a National Park Service Ranger, a moving flag lowering ceremony and dine on traditional Eisenhower favorites. This is a great opportunity to meet other members and catch up on Society news.
Every October the Dwight D. Eisenhower Society celebrates the birth of General Dwight Eisenhower by holding a wreath laying ceremony at the Eisenhower statue on the Gettysburg College campus. Following the ceremony, a luncheon is held at the historic Dobbin House, where a keynote speaker will present an address about the legacy of General Eisenhower.
