The Dwight D. Eisenhower Society is an officially recognized “Friends” group for the Eisenhower National Historic Site. Approved by the National Park Service, U. S. Department of the Interior, the Society is able to fundraise on behalf of the historic site, apply for grants that benefit the site and assist the site with various projects and special events as needed. The Society enjoys opportunities to hold events at the site such as the summer picnic and special tours of the Eisenhower Home.
The Dobbin House Restaurant and offices have served as headquarters of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Society for decades. First as a location to hold board meetings and member luncheons; then additionally as an office space for the Society business. Since the mid-1990s, this longstanding relationship with Dobbin House owner Jacqueline White has been essential to the continuation of the Society.
